If you’re a registered cardiovascular invasive specialist (RCIS) or a certified radiologic technologist (ARRT) with a passion for cardiovascular care, a career in the cath lab may be the perfect fit for you.
In the cath lab, you’ll work alongside a physician, a nurse, and other clinical support staff. The cath lab team works together to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. You’ll help patients with things like monitoring blood pressure, heart rate and other vital signs.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual wage for cardiovascular technologists, including cath lab techs, was $60,570 as of May 2021. But your compensation will vary depending on factors such as your level of education and training, years of experience, the location of the position, and the medical facility.
